Superposed townhouse and high rise condominiums

In 1956, Les investissements
Ile-des-Soeurs, then known under the
name of Quebec Home and Mortgage
Corporation buys from Soeurs de la
Congrégation Notre-Dame de Montréal,
the better known Island Saint-Paul today
under the name of Nuns’ Islands.

The territory has a surface of
approximately 28 million square feet.

The studies of feasibility relating to the development of this territory let foresee
a project of about 350,000,000 $.

In 1966, the only housing available on Nuns' Island were rental units owned by
Structures Metroplitaines.

From 1977 with the construction of the island’s first condominium ‘Pyramide 77’,
several condominiums and single family houses were built by Proment, the main
development corporation on the island, LSR  Développement Ltée, Le Groupe
Excel and Les développements Groupe Montclair Bois Franc.

Today 2002, Le Panorama condominium is completed, with Les Sommets sur le Fleuve
breaking ground earlier this year with occupancy in Decmber 2002. This marks the beginning of the construction of townhouses, single-family homes at “Domaine de La Pointe”.
