Tour Aimia/Altoria at Square Victoria construction site
By Loc Chau - January 19, 2013
As Montreal’s first major office building since 2000, the future Tour Aimia/Altoria mixed-use complex is a monumental achievement, setting new standards of quality for commercial space in downtown Montreal. The building that was demolished houses Victory Hot Dog, a favorite lunch spot for Bell, National Bank and surrounding offices workers.
Facing Victoria Square, at the corner of Viger Street and Beaver Hall Hill, the 35-storey La Tour Aimia raises a singular profile on Montreal’s famed cityscape. More than 230,000 square feet of LEED Prestige office space occupy the first 10 floors, while the 25 upper floors are dedicated to the Altoria residential project and the mechanical penthouse. This unique project has been designed to seamlessly integrate the residential and commercial components into a single architectural statement, while preserving each component’s operational identity, through separate entrances. With its strategic location and direct connection to the Square-Victoria metro station, La Tour Aimia rises in the heart of the Quartier international, which has emerged in recent years as downtown Montreal’s most dynamic business district. Among the prominent addresses located just steps away: Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec; the Quebecor building; the Stock Exchange Tower; the World Trade Centre; W Hotel; le Palais des congrès; and the head offices of Power Corporation and National Bank. |
